How To Look Good Without Trying
Updated: Jan 13
Ever have those days where you look in your closet and just feel lost? You want to look good but have no idea where to start and honestly you've overslept, and now you have ten minutes to get ready. So you get frustrated and pull out that same old jeans and t-shirt that you always do. I here to tell you those days are over! Here are my tips to look polished and put together with minimal effort!
Sticking to one color or color palette will create one long line. This brings the eye upwards to make you look taller and leaner. Especially if you do this with neutrals. I normally stick to black. shocker
2. PATTERN AND TEXTURE:
With sticking to one color palette, playing around with pattern and texture helps to add interest to the look. It doesn’t have to be complicated, it can be as simple as a suede jacket or wearing items with different sized stripes. Mixing it up in that way adds an element of high fashion and glamour.
3. THE HAT EFFECT:
I don’t know what it is about a hat that makes it the perfect finishing touch. It instantly elevates a look. Adding it to a simple outfit will automatically make it look like you put in way more effort than you actually did. So if after all of this you still reach for that T-shirt and jeans, at least throw on a hat
4. STATEMENT JEWELRY:
One or two pieces of statement jewelry will not only add a little sparkle, but it directs the eye where to look. Such as adding a chunky necklace will bring the eye upwards towards the face. So by doing this you distract from the areas you’re not so confident in while creating little moments in the area you are. My favorite way to do this is to either stack necklaces or rings to add a luxe feel.
5. LASTLY CONFIDENCE!: I know this sounds cheesy or cliche but it’s really true! Looking good starts with you. If you're confident in what you're wearing, everyone else will be too.
A confident girl in a t-shirt and jeans will always look better than a woman in a $500 dress she hates.
...but still throw on the hat
